RECOMENDED BOOK
The Reluctant Buddhist - William Woollard

Former(?) TV Presenter William Woolard provides a personal insite into the practise of the Buddhism of Nichiren Daishonin in this well written introductory book.
Whilst the book works well on an 'introduction to Buddhism' level, it's really his journey into it, which many will recognise, that makes it such an appealing book.
He explains very clearly, the difference between this and other forms of Buddhism, in that this practise is not an 'other world' practise, but is firmly rooted in daily life and designed to move our lives forward - Highly Recomended.

We Currently have a few copies of our introductory booklet "The Art of Living"

We are practitioners of the Buddhism of Nichiren Daishonin, based in the East Midlands of the UK, including Nottingham, Derby, Leicester and Lincoln along with surrounding areas.
The practise of this Buddhism is simple and offers a way for people to change their lives by the chanting of the phrase 'Nam Myoho Renge Kyo'. To hear what this sounds like, you can download a small sound file here
If you would like to hear a longer sound file with a lot of people chanting you can download an mp3 file here
Unlike many other forms of Buddhism there are no 'rules' in this practise, no dietary restrictions, lifestyle (or orange robes !!). Instead, we base our lives by revealing our buddhahood and making decisions based on wisdom gained through this. Buddhahood, however, is not some other-worldly state of mind but a wisdom that we all have, whether we believe it or not and by chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo we can reveal that and change our lives and that of others around us.
We hope you enjoy this site and if you would like to find out more about how to practise, please contact us and someone will get back to you.
